We recognise your child’s individuality and their unique skills, talents and attributes need to be recognised and enhanced through learning and teaching. Whether your child requires additional learning support or further extension, our student-centred approach ensures we meet their needs.
Our Learning Support Team provides personalised assistance to students in their learning, wellbeing and transitional pathways. Our expert Learning and Support Teachers (LaSTs), Student Learning Support Officers (SLSOs), Head Teacher Special Education and Head Teacher Teaching and Learning, work with staff and parents to implement targeted adjustments to learning for students. Through the development of Personalised Learning and Support Plans (PLASPs), teachers tailor their practice to meet the needs of students with identified disabilities.
Intensive Programs
From targeted literacy and numeracy sessions to whole school learning programs that enhance executive functioning and social skills, your child’s individual needs will be addressed. Our specialist staff, including Special Education teachers in our Support Unit and English as an Additional Language and Dialect (EAL/D) teachers, work collaboratively to seamlessly enhance your child’s engagement, skill acquisition and self-efficacy.
The role of our LaST (Learning and Support Teacher) is to cater for the full range of students who require learning assistance to help them achieve their potential. The LaST also has a very important role in both working with and developing the expertise of all classroom teachers.

- helps test Year 6 students prior to entry to Year 7
- makes parental contact
- supports students who self refer
- organises parent tutor volunteers to work with individual students in reading.
Foundational Skills: Literacy and Numeracy
Our peer led programs are designed by students for students to support their literacy and numeracy growth in safe and supportive environments. The Numeracy and Literacy programs are facilitated after school by Stage 5 students acting as peer mentors under the guidance of staff. These small group workshops are available to your child if they would like to further enhance their skills in numeracy and reading in a safe, supportive and collaborative environment.
