Creative and performing arts

Sylvania High School offers students a range of Performing Arts opportunities in Dance, Drama and Music..

Visual Arts is taught at Sylvania High school as a compulsory subject in Stage 4 and is offered as an elective in Stages 5 and 6.

 

English

Language shapes our understanding of ourselves and our world, and is the primary means by which we relate to others.

HSIE

Human Society and its Environment (HSIE)  delivers 14 courses across the curriculum in Years 7 to 12.

Sylvania High School offers French and Modern Greek.

 

Mathematics

The Mathematics Faculty at Sylvania High School is a dynamic faculty which aims to foster the intellectual mathematical development of all students.

PDHPE

Personal Development, Health & Physical Education (PDHPE) at Sylvania High School contributes to the cognitive, social, emotional and physical development of students by providing an experiential curriculum that is contemporary, relevant, challenging and physically active.

Science

Science develops student’s knowledge, understanding and skills to explain and make sense of the biological, chemical, physical and technological world.

Technology and Applied Science

At Sylvania High School we aim to make the Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) programs a relevant and important part of the students’ curriculum and life.

VET

The TAS Faculty at Sylvania High School offers the students a wide range of subjects to choose from, including VET subjects, Construction and Hospitality that have access to the Trade Training Centre facilities: Construction (VET) Hospitality (VET)

Support Unit

The Sylvania High School Support Unit offers our students the opportunity to engage with teaching and learning that is targeted to individual students' needs, as they complete the same curriculum as their peers, in a smaller class setting.
