Getting to Sylvania High School is simple no matter where you live. The school is well serviced by both Transport NSW and UGo Mobility buses that bring students directly to and from the school, and link to the City Rail train schedule.

Tips for getting to and from school on time:

• Organise a school Opal card or bus pass via transport.nsw.gov.au/ssts or phone 131 500.
• Plan the route to school using the trip planner at transportnsw.info/trip. 
• Practise walking to and from school.
• Discuss what will happen before and after school, including to be home.
• Talk about what to do when running late or if they miss the bus or train, lose their travel pass, feel unsafe travelling to and from school, or it's wet weather. 
• Discuss the dangers of being distracted when crossing the road or riding a bike – including talking on the phone, texting or using headphones.

E-Bikes & Scooters

With the increased use of e-scooters and e-bikes in our local community, we would like to clarify the school's policy regarding these vehicles.

Due to storage and safety requirements e-bikes and e-scooters are prohibited on school grounds.

Any incidents of e-scooters or e-bikes being brought onto school grounds by students will be managed in line with the Department and school’s Behaviour Policy.

Subsidised school travel

Transport for NSW provides subsidies to assist school students.

• The School Student Transport Scheme provides eligible students with free or subsidised travel on public transport between home and school.
• The School Drive Subsidy may help towards the costs of driving children to school if you live in an area where there is no public transport.
