Bring Your Own Device Program (BYOD)

Students at Sylvania High School are able to bring their own computing device to school. This will allow richer learning experiences across all subjects. It will also enable teaching staff use technology to immerse students in real world examples on a daily basis and prepare them for the world beyond school that requires skills in technology. The Sylvania High School Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program aims to improve student learning experiences both in and out of the classroom. Sylvania High School provides considerable freedom to students in their choice of technology and in their use of technology in the classroom. The school does so with the expectation that they will make good decisions with regard to their personal use of technology. Parents and students are required to sign a User Charter relating to the use of devices while they are at school. Once the User Charter has been signed students will be able to use their device in classrooms and connect to the Department of Education’s filtered wireless network.
